Making Power

Here in the US I use a small power inverter that plugs in to the car cigarette lighter socket. It takes 12 dc volts to 110 volts ac. I gave less than $50 US for it. This will run and charge my tech devices, best to have the car running though.

My cousin uses a Zero Goal solar panel to charge his 12 volt dc stuff when he is out in the woods, not sure it will charge a laptop though. It folds down to about the size of letter paper for easy storage.

Tech on the go

My on the go access to DTD1 was an Asus Transformer TF101 tablet with keyboard dock. It worked great for surfing, googling, watching movies, and gps on wifi. The battery life with dock is about 16 hrs. It has a 10" touch screen and runs on android with 16 gb storage. you can add more storage with usb sticks and sd memory chips. The screen is ok outdoors. New these go for around $300 to $350 US used around $200 us

I just bought an Asus Vivobook 11.1" touch screen mini laptop. It runs Windows 8 has 500 gb hard drive, 4 gb ram, Intel i3 processor @1.4ghz. So far i really like for on the go. Only thing that disappoints is a short battery life of about 4hrs. The screen is great indoors but no good outside due to the high gloss finish. I gave $350 us for mine on craigslist, new they are $490 us

With either of these 2 devices you will need Wifi to access gps/maps functions like google maps. Not sure it is an option for you, I use my smart phone to wifi tether on the go.

Hope this is at least a little helpful
