The ejected seat from the US aircraft

A US airman who became stuck behind enemy lines after the downing of a US fighter jet has been saved in an audacious rescue mission.

Donald Trump touted the operation late Saturday night as one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. History

The airman and a pilot were shot down in an F15 fighter jet over a remote area of Iran on Friday.

The pilot had safely ejected and was rescued by two military helicopters the same day, but the second crew member had remained missing.

The missing crew member, who said was a highly respected Colonel, hid for more than 36 hours before making a daring dash to the rescue site.

Iranians have been offered a $60,000 bounty for the pilots head, as the regime urged locals near the crash site to seize the American.

The complex rescue mission involved hundreds of special forces personnel along with several dozen warplanes and helicopters.

As US forces closed in on the stranded officer, a firefight broke out with Iranian troops.

Trump confirmed that the colonel was injured but will be just fine, as he celebrated snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

Mr Trump said this was the first time in military memory that two U.S. Pilots have been rescued, separately, deep in Enemy Territory, as he defiantly said that no American warfighter would ever be left behind.

Bombs and weapons were fired from US warplanes to keep Iranian troops away from the stranded colonel.

He said dozens of aircraft armed with the most lethal weapons in the World were sent by the US military to retrieve him.

This brave warrior was behind enemy lines in the treacherous mountains of Iran, being hunted down by our enemies, who were getting closer and closer by the hour

According to Fox News, the rescue missions success was partly thanks to a deception campaign launched by the CIA inside Iran.

Australia Runs Out of Fuel

Empty fuel dispensers at a Shell petrol station say Sorry this hose is not in use in Sydney, Australia...

The Australian government has encouraged people to go ahead with their Easter travel plans, despite fuel shortages at hundreds of petrol stations across the country.

Easter is a very special time of faith and family, energy minister Chris Bowen said on Saturday, adding Go take a break but get no more fuel than you need

Fuel prices in Australia have soared since the start of the US-Israel war with Iran and the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil and gas shipments.

Bowen said 312 of Australias roughly 8,000 service stations had run out of diesel, mostly in rural areas where it takes longer to replenish stocks.

In televised remarks, he said the nation had 39 days worth of petrol, 29 days worth of diesel and 30 days worth of jet fuel in reserve.

Australia imports about 90% of its fuel from the Middle East and has been particularly exposed to the disruption caused by Trumps conflict and Tehrans blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

The near total suspension of international shipping in the vital waterwa through which around 20% of the worlds oil and natural gas flows has prompted governments around the world to implement measures to conserve fuel.

Australia is not an active participant in this war. But all Australians are paying higher prices because of it, he said.

He encouraged Australians to limit unnecessary fuel use and switch to public transport where possible.
