Oh Crap! Trump Sacks AG Pam Bondi/Hegseth Fires Highest Ranking Army Officer

Trump Sacks Attorney General Pam Bondi, Replaces With Ex Personal Lawyer

Pete Hegseth Fires Highest Ranking US Army Officer in the Middle of Iran War

MailOnline 3 APR 2026

Donald Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday after months of strained relations and named his former personal lawyer to serve as the acting chief of the Justice Department.

The move, which the Republican president announced in a social media post, comes amid criticism of Bondis handling of the Epstein files and her failure to successfully prosecute several perceived Trump political foes.

Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year, Trump said on Truth Social. Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country.

Bondi will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, the president said, and will be replaced on an interim basis by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who Trump described as a very talented and respected Legal Mind.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ousted the highest ranking US Army officer amid the Iran war.

General Randy George, a Biden appointee, was told to step down and take immediate retirement

A Pentagon official said We are grateful for his service, but it was time for a leadership change in the Army.

George is understood to have clashed with the administrations vision for the Army.

Vice Chief of Staff General Christopher LaNeve, a former aide to Hegseth, will be acting chief of staff.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said that LaNeve is a battle tested leader with decades of operational experience and is completely trusted by Secretary Hegseth to carry out the vision of this administration without fault.

Hegseths decision comes as 50,000 US troops are deployed in the Middle East ahead of a possible ground invasion in Iran.
