Re: Robbery Victim Shot By Police
Not to be critical of news posts, as I really enjoy them, I question the newsworthiness of this particular article. Mainly because accidents do happen to all of us. Getting shot by accident as a result of your own actions doesn't seem noteworthy.
Nor does being shot because you refuse to stop threatening someone with a weapon. I know I'm not a kung fo expert and I don't expect anyone else to be. If the individual did not give up with several doses of pepper spray, one can assume he is deadly in his intent. Shooting to wound seems smarter than attempting to deal with it by hand.
I can't fault the police on either of these actions. Both seem reasonable outcomes, given the circumstances.

*edit* After reading what I responded with it sounds sort of harsh. This is not a fault of yours, FreaknDavid. Rather I take it to be a fault of CNN, a national news service, and it's reporting methods. I'm left with the idea that despite all the political foo-fa-raw going on, the idea they could be spend the valuable time the reporters provide with fact checking, exposure of lies and schemes, and investigative reporting; they turn to something like this for a page filler. No wonder CNN is in such dire straights for viewership. Looks to me like they need some serious head chopping and the highest levels to set things right again.
