Melania Trump Threatens to Sue Hunter Biden For $1BIL Over Epstein Claim
Hunter Biden Calls Trumps Bluff on $1BIL Epstein Lawsuit
BBC 15 AUG 2025
'Timid' Melania Trump has threatened to sue Hunter Biden for more than $1BIL after he said she was introduced to her husband by sex offender Jeffrey Epstein
Lawyers acting on behalf of the first lady, who married Donald Trump in 2005, described his claim as false, disparaging, defamatory and inflammatory
Biden, son of former US President Joe Biden, made the comments during an interview this month. He defended them on Thursday and did not seem willing to back down in the face of the lawsuit threat.
Donald Trump was a friend of Epstein, but has said they fell out in the early 2000s because the financier poached employees from the spa in Trumps Florida golf club.
A letter from the first ladys lawyers and addressed to an attorney for Hunter Biden demands he retract the claim and apologise, or face legal action for over $1BIL in damages
It says the first lady has 'suffered overwhelming financial and reputational harm' because of the claim he repeated.
It also accuses the youngest Biden son of having a vast history of trading on the names of others, and repeating the claim to draw attention to yourself. During a wide ranging interview this month, Hunter Biden claimed unreleased documents relating to Epstein would implicate Trump.
He said Epstein introduced Melania to Trump the connections are so wide and deep. The first ladys legal letter notes the claim was partially attributed to Michael Wolff, a journalist who authored a critical biography of the president.
Wolff reportedly claimed that the first lady was known to an associate of Epstein and Trump when she met her now husband. The outlet later retracted the story after receiving a letter from the first ladys attorney that challenged the contents and framing of the story.
When asked Biden said 'Its going to happen' Hunter Biden refused to apologize to Melania Trump after she threatened to sue him for $1 billion over the claim that she was introduced to President Donald Trump by sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In an interview earlier this month, Biden cited journalist Michael Wolff to suggest that Epstein had introduced Donald Trump to the future first lady. Attorneys for the Trumps demanded that Biden apologize and that the video be taken down.
'F--That... Thats not gonna happen, Biden told YouTube host Andrew Callaghan this week. The primary source was the interviews that Michael Wolff has been conducting, in which he has actually tapes of, I think, hours and hours and hours of interviews with Jeffrey Epstein directly
And I dont believe in guilt by association alone, but the connections have become.. they're so glaringly obvious that I think they're trying to use other things to distract, he continued. And I also think they're bullies, and they think that a billion dollars is going to scare me
The fact of the matter is that if they'd like to go, I have this to say to them.. If they want to sit down for a deposition and clarify the nature of the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and Trump.
If the president and the first lady want to do that, and all of the known associates around them at the time of whatever time that they met, I'm more than happy to provide them the platform to be able to do it
Hunter Biden speculated that it could cost over $1 million to fight the lawsuit
