It was the fifth time Jonathan Braun has been arrested since Trump commuted his 10 year sentence as he left office in 2021, according to the report.

The decision came as a last-minute clemency request that made its way to the president through Brauns family connection with Charles Kushner, the father of Trumps son in law and White House adviser Jared Kushner, the Times added.

But as of Friday, Braun was back in prison after a federal judge in Brooklyn agreed with prosecutors and refused to allow him to be released from custody, noting his flight risk and risk to the community.

The behaviour is erratic, U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto said at the arraignment, as reported by the Times. There?s the potential someone could really get hurt.

Braun reportedly appeared agitated at his arraignment, as he challenged his legal representation and gave a middle finger to the courtroom audience.

Braun has been accused of string of offenses, which include swinging a pole that contained intravenous bags at a nurse threatening a synagogue congregant who had asked him to stop talking during services punching his wife and 75 year old father in law and grabbing a nannys breast as he touched himself, the Times said.

He had been sentenced in 2019 by Matsumoto on charges of smuggling and distributing marijuana after he copped a plea with prosecutors.

But Brauns legal woes havent just been on the criminal side. A judge last year ordered him to pay a $20 million fine in a case brought by the Federal Trade Commission for claims that he engaged in a predatory lending scheme, according to the Times.
