TRUMP Continues to ATTACK Judges - Federal Judge: Trumps Attacks on Judges Could Hurt His Cases

A Federal Judge on Monday wont lift his block on deportation flights of alleged members of Venezuelas crime gang Tren de Araragua under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act.

Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg in Washington, D.C., wrote in a 37 page ruling that Venezuelans whom the Trump administration wants to deport under the act should get a hearing on whether they are gang members.

A three-member appeals court heard arguments for one hour late Monday and didnt issue a ruling.

'Nazis got better treatment under the Alien Enemies Act than has happened here' Judge Patricia Millett, who was appointed by President Barack Obama, said in noting during World War II that Nazis appeared before hearing boards under Franklin D. Roosevelts administration.

Five plaintiffs are suspected gang members but were not on the deportation flights. They remain in custody in Texas and appeared before a judge.

Boasberg said the plaintiffs likely will succeed in court.

The Court need not resolve the thorny question of whether the judiciary has the authority to assess this claim in the first place, Boasberg wrote in his ruling. That is because Plaintiffs are likely to succeed on another equally fundamental theory. Before they may be deported, they are entitled to individualized hearings to determine whether the Act applies to them at all.

Boasberg said use of the Alien Enemies Act 'implicates a host of complicated legal issues'

TRUMPs Immigration Crackdown Hits British & Other Tourists
Tourists planning trips to the US are being warned of increasingly tough questioning at border control that could see them barred from entry or even detained amid Donald Trumps immigration crackdown, it emerged today.

US border officials have been using more aggressive methods with holidaymakers and LEGAL immigrants, with the Trump administration calling it enhanced vetting, according to the New York Times.

Britains foreign office has revised its advice for citizens travelling to the US to include a warning that anyone found breaking its rules may be liable to arrest or detention

Previously the guidance had only stated: The authorities in the US set and enforce entry rules.

There has been suspicion in some cases that people have been turned away for expressing anti Trump views, with a French scientist allegedly denied entry after officials discovered hateful messages criticising the President on his phone.

And last month British artist Becky Burke, 28, was handcuffed and taken to a detention cell in Tacoma, Washington, after being classified as an illegal alien

She attempted to cross the border into Canada with an incorrect visa on February 26, US authorities said, with her parents telling the BBC that she had been getting free accommodation for helping families with chores. Her father believed that in doing so she had essentially broken the terms of her tourist visa waiver, which bans vacationers from doing work while in the US
