Sao Paulo Plane Crash Horror in Barra Funda Brazil as Huge Plumes of Smoke Seen Across City

A plane crashed in the Barra Funda region, in S?o Paulo, Brazil this morning, with plumes of smoke seen snaking above the city landscape

Huge plumes of smoke were seen across Sao Paulo today after a plane crashed in the city, killing two people and injuring two more.

The plane, a King Air F90 light aircraft, went down in the western part of the city in an area called Marqu?s de S?o Vicente. The aircraft was trying to make an emergency landing when it smashed into a bus, with the vehicle bursting into flames. Emergency services are currently working to see if there are any victims.

Two charred bodies were found in the gutted aircraft. The bus driver sustained injuries during the impact, as did a motorcyclist who was riding past at the time.

Locals reported hearing an explosive bang when the plane ploughed into the bus, with videos showing a large plume of black smoke funnelling into the morning sky. A huge response of seven fire engines rushed to the scene.

The fire department told local media that the 732 bus, which was from the Santa Brigida bus company, had no passengers on board.

The plane, which had capacity for eight passengers, left Campo de Marte at 7:15 in the morning, pilots operating in the same area this morning told TV Globo.

The plane is thought to have tried to make an emergency landing on the runway of the avenue before it crashed.
