Sweden School Shooting Leaves Multiple People Injured With Public Told Stay Away

Risbergska School in Orebro, Sweden, has been placed in lockdown after a suspected shooting incident which has injured several people, according to reports

At least five people have been shot at a horror incident at a school in Sweden, amid reports a man in a mask who entered the building and opened fire - before turning the gun on himself.

Parts of Risbergska School for adults in Orebro, a campus which also has schools for children, was thrown into lockdown after the incident where a witness reported hearing bangs, probably gunfire as he confirmed some parts of the school were evacuated. Those in classrooms who could not escape were placed into lockdown, while teachers are said to have locked themselves in the staffroom for safety.

Police have confirmed five people have been shot, and reports by the Expressen suggest the shooter later turned the gun on themselves. A Orebro police spokesman said Five people are confirmed to have been shot. The danger is not over. The public MUST continue to stay away from Vasthaga.

The operation is still ongoing. The charges are currently attempted murder, arson and aggravated weapons offense. An information point will be set up where relatives and others who have questions can gather. People are again urged not to go to school or hospital. We will return to where the point will be located.

Lena Warenmark told SVT News she was in her study for about an hour. She continued: Before that, we heard gunshots very close to our study. There were probably ten shots. She describes that there were a few bangs first in short succession, a short pause and then a few more.

The school is a municipal adult education school and according to Lena Warenmark, there were unusually few students present as many had gone home after a national exam.

Karin Stenstr?m, Region Orebros communications manager at the health and medical administration, said: We have established a special medical management. We have received injured patients.
