Default Re: POWER of PRAYER- No Matter Which Faith You Follow=GOD is With You

Who Seeks to Kill Christ
Joshua West

There is such a false religious idea today that we can accept Jesus but reject certain parts of the Bible. If you reject part of the Word, you reject Christ in total. If you reject any part of the promises, the warnings, the prophesies in Scripture, you are also rejecting the person who fulfilled them. It's all, or it's nothing. Either we bow down to God, or we try to silence and even kill his Word.

When we deny Christ, we don't have some grand or lofty intention to further the kingdom of darkness. We don't necessarily try to be at odds with God; we just want to be lord of our own life. We want to be in control of our own life. We just want to be happy. We just want what we want...which in turn does forward the kingdom of darkness. We do the devil's bidding unaware.

King Herod, as we see in Matthew 2:1-18, is a picture of everyone who rejects the lordship of Christ for their own ends. They desire to undermine and distort the Word of God in order to retain the throne of their own lives.

They are like the tenants who were leased a vineyard by a master who traveled away into another country. "When the season for fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants to get his fruit. And the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. ...Finally he sent his son to them, saying, 'They will respect my son.' But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.'" (Matthew 21:34-35, 37-38, ESV).

This is the ridiculous idea that we have, that if we shut out and ignore the Word the God, that somehow we won't be responsible for it. This is far from true.

Many people today do not think of themselves as enemies of the cross. Maybe even you are one of them. However, if you are not for the cross, if you are not being transformed by Christ, if you are not propagating the truth about Jesus, you are an enemy of the cross.

Bow your heart and soul before Christ. Submit yourself to him and to his instructions through the Bible. Find salvation in your surrender to Jesus.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people -- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4
