A federal appeals court has upheld the 5MIL verdict against Donald Trump for sexually abusing and defaming the magazine writer E Jean Carroll, dealing a legal setback to the president-elect.

In a statement to the Guardian, Carrolls attorney Roberta Kaplan said: Both E Jean Carroll and I are gratified by todays decision. We thank the second circuit for its careful consideration of the parties arguments.
