A schoolgirl was mauled to death by pigs after she was left home alone in charge of the familys smallholding.

Milena Shevelyova, 17, went to the sty to feed the beasts when her parents were away in the city - but she was knocked over by a large aggressive female pig, it is believed.

She fell and lost consciousness due to the sows assault, according to reports about the incident in the Krasnoyarsk region of Russia.

All the other pigs attacked her said a report from Bad News Telegram channel. The animals tore her femoral artery and bit her. Milena died from blood loss.

She had multiple wounds to her head and body from pig bites. Her worried parents could not reach her by phone and asked a friend to check on her. He found the body, said the report. The parents told the police that the pig had always been angry and aggressive.

A paramedic team confirmed the girls death. The prosecutor of Krasnoyarsks Uzhursky District immediately went to the scene. Her body was sent for a forensic medical examination, the results of which will determine the exact cause of death said a statement.

In 2020, a four-year-old boy was mauled to death by a herd of pigs after leaving his house in the Indian city of Hyderabad to play outside.

The youngster, who was identified as V. Harshavardhan, was dragged away by the animals to a rubbish dump, where they attacked him and ate part of his body.
