Default Re: WARNING-It Happened Even GOOGLE was Hit-Thousands had problems -the Net 1st July

This was not the only issue to be reported last night. Not to do with the DNS Changer and DDoS attacks but dealing with the leap second this month that was added at midnight, June 30ᵗʰ.

The last time this happened, places like Reddit and Slashdot experienced crashes because of a kernel bug. This mainly effected Linux kernel distributions earlier than version 2.6.29. It also effected switches, load balancers, spam filters, email gateways, and NAS devices.

This time several venders have released patches and fixes.

So all this hit at around the same time.
