Oh Crap! Desperate TRUMP Golf Course Becomes MOST Expensive After MASSIVE Price Hike

'Insanity': TRUMP Golf Course Becomes MOST Expensive After MASSIVE Price Hike

A Donald Trump-owned golf course in Scotland is to become the most expensive in the United Kingdom after a massive hike in the price to play a single round.

MSNRAW 16 AUG 2024

Trump Turnberry is expected to hit golfers with an extra $1,200 green fee from next June, the BBC reported.

In 2016, playing the course cost just under $200.

The new fee will apply to golfers playing before 1 p.m. who are not guests at the estate’s hotel, Turnberry’s manager Nic Oldham told golf magazine Bunkered.

"Staying in the hotel and playing the [golf course] Ailsa will come in some way under £1,000 [approximately $1,200], so it’s better value to do it that way,” he said.

"That’s better for the golfer, because they’re getting a full five-star experience, but it’s also better for Turnberry.

“We are unique amongst venues that have hosted The Open in that we are a complete resort and, therefore, we need to make sure all parts of our business are viable. Simply selling rounds of golf isn’t a sustainable business model.”

Many golfers were furious, according to reports.

Player Michael McEwan figured out each hole would cost more than $70, the Daily Mail reported

“Insanity,” he said.

Another golfer, David Platt, said: 'Maybe an "open" course should be open to all, not just the super-rich.

Trump bought the resort in Ayrshire in 2014. The BBC reported Trump, who has another course near Aberdeen, lost more than $5.5 million from the resorts in 2021.
