Default Re: POWER of PRAYER- No Matter Which Faith You Follow=GOD is With You

Deny Yourself

"Then Amnon hated her with very great hatred, so that the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her. And Amnon said to her, 'Get up! Go!'" - 2 Samuel 13:15

The passage describes a tragic incident involving King David's family. Amnon, David's eldest son, devised a plan to be alone with his half-sister Tamar. Despite Tamar's pleas, Amnon raped and then rejected her with great hatred. This selfish and self-centered mindset leads to unfulfillment and comes at a high cost.

What Amnon did went against God's plan for relationships. While God created the desire for companionship between man and woman, it should be fulfilled within the bounds of marriage and through mutual submission. Seeking fulfillment outside marriage often leads to emptiness and discord, as seen in this passage.

Engaging in sinful acts leaves us feeling empty and guilty. Instead of taking responsibility, we tend to blame others. We know we live in a sinful and broken world and that sin is near. I urge you today to decide to run to God when temptation comes your way.

If you have committed any sinful acts, whether sexual or non-sexual, may you repent and receive God's forgiveness. Yes, God forgives. Understand that forgiveness doesn't erase the pain or excuse the wrongdoing, but it provides an opportunity for healing and freedom from bitterness and resentment. May you find victory in Jesus through His love and forgiveness. Your past does not need to define your future.

Pray with me:
Lord Jesus, I confess that I need You in my life every moment of every day. I ask that You remove sinful thoughts and desires from my life and help me resist temptation. As You set me free from past and present sins, may I delight in abiding in You and Your forgiveness. Lord, I also ask that You help me extend grace and forgiveness to those who wrong me, just as You have forgiven me for my sins. In Jesus' name, Amen.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people -- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4
