Defence Minister Richard Marles will announce the $5 billion deal on Friday morning.


The nuclear-powered submarines will be assembled at the future Osborne construction grounds in South Australia.

ASC Pty Ltd has been selected alongside BAE Systems in the UK to construct the submarines.


Rolls Royce has been tasked with assembling the nuclear reactors for the AUKUS build, having supplied and maintained the UK’s nuclear fleet for over half a century.
