Movies re: Hundreds of Firefighters Battle Out-of-Control Bushfire in Australia

Multiple Homes Lost in Victorian Bushfires

128,000 Victorians Remain Without Power

SKY Australia 15 FEB 2024

Dozens of homes and a primary school have been destroyed as multiple fires burn across Victoria.

Five firefighters were injured as flames overwhelmed their truck while fighting a blaze near the Grampians National Park.

Two fires in the state's west remain at a watch and act level.

Residents are being told to leave immediately in Halls Gap, Bellfield, Lake Fyans, Dadswell Bridge and Pomonal.

Up to 30 homes are thought to have been lost in Pomonal.

Victorians W.O. Power

There are calls for Victorians affected by widespread power outages this week to receive emergency payments.

Around 128,000 properties remain off the grid following Tuesday's outage.

This means many homes have been forced to throw out hundreds of dollars’ worth of food.

Experts fear the cost to fix damaged transmission systems will be passed onto customers despite the cost-of-living crisis.

The market operator says it could take days or weeks for some homes and businesses to be reconnected
