Yoga Guru Accused of Running Fantric Sex Slave Ring' in France as 26 Women Freed

Gregorian Bivolaru, 71, is charged with human trafficking, organised kidnapping, rape and organised abuse of weakness by members of a sect, according to French authorities.

A yoga guru in France accused of running a sex slave ring and indoctrinating followers has been arrested as 26 women were freed.

Gregorian Bivolaru, 71, from Romania, was arrested alongside 40 others in a massive police operation involving 175 officers in the capital. The internationally known yoga teacher and author at the heart of the Atman Yoga Federation is accused of running the sect across dozens of countries, including Romania, Sweden and France. He is being charged with human trafficking, organized kidnapping, rape and organised abuse of weakness by members of a sect, according to French authorities.

Both during the communist regime and nowadays Gregorian Bivolaru has been subject to abusive and discriminating actions. He has been subject to two attempts on his life, a permanent attempt on his private life and intimacy, on his freedom of expression, on the equality and safety of all yoga practitioners and followers.

The persecutions culminated with the events started on 18 March 2004, when his apartment was searched simultaneously with other 16 private locations, residences of some yoga students. The action of 2004 bears the code name "CHRIST", a shocking name that undoubtedly reveals the involvement of certain hostile occult circles in the ideological repression against MISA yoga school and the yogi Gregorian Bivolaru.

On 28 March 2004, Mr. Bivolaru was illegally detained at Nadlac border point, charged with an alleged attempt to illegally cross the border, attempt denounced by eyewitnesses as a set-up. The political order is clearly proved by the transcripts of Social Democratic Party (PSD) meeting on 27 March, the very day before the set-up.

In spite of these very soft evidences, Mr. Bivolaru is arrested on 30 March 2004 with extreme swiftness, a court of judges being formed at night and the trial taking place within doors. The right to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence are not observed. On 31 May 2004 a new arrest warrant is issued, for sexual act with a minor, despite the fact that the "victim" denied this capacity.

After Mr. Bivolaru's request for political asylum in Sweden , the Romanian authorities realized the first warrant - on which the extradition request was based - was very inconsistent, and came up with a new warrant in April 2005, assimilating a fundamental branch of yoga -- Karma Yoga -- with persons trafficking.
