The SS Officer Burned Alive 30 Years After The End Of World War 2
During The Second World War, One of The Most Infamous and Notorious German War Criminals Was Joachim Peiper.
BBC 29 OCT 2023
Peiper was a close ally and friend of Heinrich Himmler, (The Head of the SS) and he would during the conflict be responsible for the slaughter of American prisoners of war and many civilians.
Peiper was a ruthless commander and was very dangerous, but after the conflict despite being sentenced to death he was never executed.
However following his release a decade after the end of the war, he settled in France and built his own home with his wife. But then a campaign in the 1970s was launched to oust him from France, but one evening his house was attacked and was set fire to.
Whilst defending his home, and shooting at those who threw Molotovs, Peiper succumbed to the fire. But he was a man who should have been condemned at the end of World War 2.
