I have lived in the state of California in the USA for all of my life. Unfortunately we have over a hundred a day throughout the vast state. Most of these are tremors & not disruptive. It is just an accepted way of life here. When they are of significant magnitude to cause damage they can indeed be a scary thing. Hope things return to normal for you quickly.

P.S. I know the above number of quakes seems unbelievable but here it is from the
