WWE WWE: Jericho Reveals Departure Plan

WWE News: Chris Jericho Reveals Plans for His Departure

Bleachereport

Yes, we have seen this a million times before, so make this a million and one.

Fans, have been speculating since Chris Jericho's return as to when he will be leaving the WWE. Sadly, we as fans can't just enjoy the time we have with our favorite stars. Instead, we either bash them for hanging on to long or leaving too soon.

I personally feel that in-ring wrestling is not a job that is meant to sustain a lifetime.

Yes, there are other options within the business that performers have, but there are only a select few that see past the business and make themselves successful elsewhere. Chris Jericho is one of those people, whether it's Fozzy, hosting TV or radio shows, or Dancing With the Stars, he manages to give his all and find new life outside of wrestling.

Now onto the topic at hand; wrestlezone.com is reporting that "The Ayatollah of Rock N Rolla", has revealed a time frame in which he is to depart from WWE.

Chris Jericho recently did an interview on the red carpet at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. During the interview he said his current WWE run will finish up prior to SummerSlam.

Jericho said the reason is because of his band Fozzy and their plans. The band is schedule to release new music by the end of August and they will be touring as well.

If this is accurate, it is great news for Jericho and his band as they seemingly grow a bigger fan-base year after year. Ultimately, Y2J, has to make plans for life after wrestling. Otherwise, he will go the way of Ric Flair, Sting, and Hulk Hogan.

We may enjoy seeing these men at appearances or for special situations on-air. However, those three have managed to take up more TV time than they should at their respective ages.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing but respect for them as they have paved the way for modern day wrestling, I just wish they would have landed something backstage or outside of wrestling and retired gracefully.

In the end, Jericho will continue to thrive and probably return for another short stint in the future. That being said, the WWE should take this time to develop younger stars and stop relying on guys in their 40's for cheap pops.
