Russell Brand was one of the biggest names in British comedy during the 2000s - hosting a BBC Radio 2 show, writing a bestselling autobiography, being the face of Big Brother spin-offs and touring his stand-up act.
But now, amid serious allegations of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, which Brand 'absolutely refutes', the 48-year-old YouTuber and activist faces a crippling downfall of his profitable media empire.
Brand, who is worth an estimated £16million, according to wealth website Celebrity Net Worth, started as an Edinburgh Fringe performer and became an actor, novelist and presenter two decades ago, having starred in several huge Hollywood hits, including Get Him to the Greek, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Despicable Me.
At the peak of his stardom, he sold My Booky Wook and hosted Celebrity Big Brother's Big Mouth, as well as Brand X with Russell Brand. But now, his life looks largely different to his previous TV era, living in a £3.3m Victorian Gothic Oxfordshire mansion with his wife Laura Gallacher, their two children, and a baby on the way. He reportedly has a lavish car collection, including a £56,000 Volvo XC90, according to The Richest and is reported to have spent £1.4m on a home in Hollywood Hills West.
