Full Moon on 31 August is the third of four Supermoons in the summer of 2023. Blue Moon of 2023 reaches peak illumination at 01:35 UTC on Thursday, 31 August.

 A Super Moon takes place when a full moon is at its closest to the Earth. The moon will be at a distance of 222,043 miles (357,344 kilometers) away from Earth.


It’s the second full moon in the same month, it will be called a Blue Moon.
