Default WFootball: Neymar Hints at Future

Neymar: There is a good chance I could stay at Santos beyond 2014

There have been numerous reports that the 20-year-old is destined to join Barcelona but the Brazil international has now claimed that he might just stay where he is

Neymar has revealed there is a good chance that he could stay at Santos beyond 2014.

It had been widely expected that the in-demand Brazil international would move to Europe after the next World Cup, with Barcelona mooted as his most likely destination.

However, Neymar has now claimed that while a move overseas does appeal to him, he could just as easily end up extending his stay at Vila Belmiro.

"The chances [of staying] are high because I love Santos, wearing the shirt and being in Brazil," the 20-year-old attacker told Radio Estadao ESPN.

"Of course, I have a dream of playing in Europe, but nothing is impossible. In 2014 we can sit down and talk to see whether I will stay."

Neymar, who has already been capped 16 times by the Selecao, has repeatedly dispelled the view that he needs to ply his trade in Europe if he is to realise his full potential.
