Americans Urged to Wear Face Masks Indoors as Tripledemic Hits Millions
Doctors recommend New Yorkers wear masks amid "tripledemic"

Authorities in the US are calling for the return of mask-wearing in cities over the threat of a 'tripledemic.'
Emergency rooms in some areas of the country have been struggling in some areas as a winter of Covid, the flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) affect millions of Americans.
Director of the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Rochelle Walensky, told NPR the strain placed on healthcare systems has led to them recommending the re-introduction of masks.
She said: "To protect communities in those circumstances at those high levels, we have recommended and continue to recommend that those communities wear masks.
On Friday, Washington State released guidance from 25 hospital chiefs and 12 county health officers asking people to wear masks indoors.
