Lev Dermen, the owner of a chain of Californian truck stops, and Jacob Kingston, who belongs to a breakaway Mormon sect called the Order, went on a four-year spending spree in which they bought properties in the US and Turkey, and cars including a $1.7 million Bugatti and a golden Ferrari.
