Crumbling House in Overgrown Jungle Sells For DOUBLE its Price
Crumbling House Buried Under an Overgrown Jungle Sells For DOUBLE its Price Estimate
A run-down house has shockingly sold for DOUBLE the ask price, despite it being in need of a lot of TLC, as plants have engulfed the front of the house and paint is crumbling off the walls
Daily Mirror UK 7 SEP 2022

A crumbling home with damp walls and desperate need of TLC has shockingly sold for double its price estimate on auction.
The property first made the headlines last month when it hit the market for £32,000, despite being sold at a hugely discounted price.
The semi-detached property - which was vacant at time of sale - was in a state of disrepair.
Situated in Wales, the property was one of the cheapest on the market, despite being complete with three bedrooms.
The pictures of the inside did the property no justice, as photos show a dated kitchen, stained walls and old bathroom fittings.

The outdoors isn't the only part of the property in desperate need of work
The home has plenty of room, and even boasts a pantry
Despite there being a modest sized garden at the back of the property, it is currently inaccessible due to the number of wildly overgrown foliage. The plants have also grown so high that the windows are not visible.
The buyer is now tasked with restoring the home back to its former glory - but it won't be an easy job.
Images show the paint peeling from the walls, while others are crumbling and damp, as the windows completely boarded up.
Some rooms are held up with arrow props, while the open lounge is dismal and dark, and the kitchen and pantry are mouldy, dusty and falling to pieces.
The new owners will also have to cope with damp and faded interiors of the house in Skewen in Wales
The bathroom of the property is crying out for a refurb
However, this hasn't phased any buyers. In fact, the renovation project caught the eyes of many and attracted more than 60 bids in an auction.
Eventually, it sold for a whopping £63,500!
Surprisingly, Angie Davey, of Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions, said the idea of a project attracted the dozens of bids.
She said: "Property investors and developers were able to see through the current condition of the overgrown property and were be able to visualise it transformed into a lovely large family home."
Angie added that buyers weren't deterred, despite the house and ceilings being held up by jacks in various places.

Certain rooms in the home are being held up with arrow prop
Angie Davey, of Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions said that 'there is real potential in this large, semi-detached home'
She said: "Paint is peeling and wallpaper is hanging from the walls. Having said all this there is real potential in this large, semi detached home.
"Make no mistake, this is a major renovation project but with money and imagination it could be turned into a lovely family home after a complete refurbishment.
"The garden is overgrown and currently inaccessible. It's a real jungle but it has huge potential. "
Location wise, the property is situated in Skewen, within the borough of Neath Port Talbot - which is a popular spot for families.
It features a train station nearby, with services running to Swansea and Cardiff every few hours.
According to Rightmove, the average house price in the region is £156,703, so this property is a complete steal.
