They released not only in China on 13 Jan, but 21 other countries as well, which included this country I live in. There were no fights, queues or desperation here. As usual folk are calm and laid back (Well it is the Caribbean after all.) 
iPhone 4S lands in Dominican Republic on 13 January
New York.– Apple announced that its iPhone 4S smartphone will be finally landing on 13 January in China as well as 21 other additional countries including the Dominican Republic.
When the 4S and Siri launch in 23 further countries next week Apple will have its latest smartphone in 90 countries. The Cupertino Company made the announcement by means of a press release.
On January 13th 2012 the iPhone 4S went on sale in the following countries:
Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Botswana, British Virgin Islands, Cameroon, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, China, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Grenada, Guam, Guinea Conakry, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Niger, Senegal, St. Vincent and The Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos and Uganda.
