Wayne Rooney took to the stand this afternoon as the second week of Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney's Wagatha libel trial continues today at London's High Court.

The two WAGS have been embroiled in the bitter battle since Coleen accused Jamie Vardy's wife of leaking 'false stories' about her private life in October 2019.

She came to the conclusion after carrying out a month-long 'sting operation' where she used her Instagram Stories to post fake scenarios and seeing which ones ended up in the news.

Vardy, 40, denies the allegations and sued Rooney for damages for libel over the 'untrue and unjustified defamatory attack'.

Rooney, 36, earned herself the nickname Wagatha Christie as fans joked her investigating skills were very much like mystery writer Agatha Christie.

Rooney finished her evidence on Monday, with the last of the defence witnesses including Wayne Rooney, due to give evidence on Tuesday.

The case at the Royal Courts of Justice has so far seen Vardy compare her arch rival to a 'pigeon that s***s in your hair' after the WAG's infamous Instagram post.

Vardy also broke down in tears as texts with her agent about Rooney's personal Instagram were read out in court.

Cyber expert Matt Blackband now giving evidence.

Mr Sherborne said Vardy changed her Instagram password at 3.23am on October 14 2019 - five days after Rooney's Wagatha Christie reveal post.

Mr Blackband said Vardy's account had not been hacked.

He said: "From what we have seen there is no evidence of a compromise on that account.''

Mr Sherborne said two batches of WhatsApp messages between Rebekah Vardy and Caroline Watt had been lost.

Mrs Vardy has said the first group - between 2017 and 2019 - vanished when she tried to send them to her solicitor.

Mr Sherborne asked what was the most likely explanation for the absence of WhatsApp messages between October 15 2019 25 July 2020.

Mr Blackband replied: "Based on the information provided I would suggest it's a manual deletion.''

Mr Sherborne said Mrs Vardy had suggested they must have been lost when she got a new phone.

Mr Blackband replied: "There is no indication there was a new device on that date.''
