Default F1- Williams Co-Founder Steps Down

Williams has confirmed that Patrick Head is no longer on its board of directors after stepping down as the team's director of engineering.

Patrick Head will now work for Williams

Head, who has been with Williams Grand Prix Engineering since it was founded in 1977, announced at the Brazilian Grand Prix that it would be his last race with the team as it undergoes restructuring for 2012. He will now take up a position on the board of Williams Hybrid Power Limited and team boss Sir Frank Williams wished him well in his new role.

"Patrick and I have been in partnership for 34 years," Williams said. "During that time, he has been the leader of the technical team that has won the majority of our race wins and championships. This is a remarkable legacy and one which will be treasured and definitely not forgotten.
"Patrick is a very straightforward, hard working and truly gifted engineer who comfortably operates at a world class level. I will miss him very much, as I am sure his colleagues will, and he will always be welcome at Grove. Indeed, Patrick will still be seen around the factory as he continues to be involved in the development of our hybrid power activities."

Head led the technical side of the team for over three decades during which Williams won 113 grands prix , nine constructors' championships and seven drivers' championships.
