US President Joe Biden has led a flood of tributes to trailblazing actress and Golden Girls star Betty White, who has died at the age of 99.
White's film and TV career spanned eight decades.
Calling her a "lovely lady", Mr Biden told reporters: "99 years old - as my mother would say, God love her!"
Henry Winkler and Piers Morgan are among the many celebrities paying tribute to TV legend Betty White, who has died aged 99.
The Golden Girls actress had been due to celebrate her 100th birthday in just a few weeks time and had said in a recent interview that she was "lucky to be in such good health".
Tragically, her agent confirmed that the Hollywood star died on Friday morning, saying that he "thought she would live forever".
He said: "Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever.
"I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don't think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again."
Tributes also poured in from people in the entertainment industry including Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds.
