re: EVIL PEDO, Rapist & Child-Killer Set to Be FREED From Prison
Child Killer Colin Pitchfork Arrested After Approaching Young Girls on Long Walks
Pitchfork, 61, was arrested following a breach of his licence conditions just two months after he was released after 33 years behind bars for the murder of 15-year-olds Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth
Daily Mirror 20 NOV 2021.
Pitchfork was jailed for life after raping and strangling 15-year-olds Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth in Leicestershire in 1983 and 1986

Robin and Barbara Ashworth, whose 15 year old daughter Dawn Ashworth was murdered by Colin Pitchfork
Colin Pitchfork was called back to jail just two months into his parole as a *preventative measure after he began approaching young women, sources have revealed.
The mum of one victim of the double *child killer and rapist told of her relief that the 61-year-old is backbehind bars.
Pitchfork, who served 33 years, has been out on licence since September and was recalled over “concerning behaviours”, which included going up to young females while out on long walks.
He was last night back in a closed prison but could be eligible for parole again in just 18 months.
The killer was jailed for at least 30 years in 1987 after raping and strangling 15-year-olds Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth in Leicestershire in 1983 and 1986.
Dawn’s mum Barbara said: “I’m pleased that he has been put away and women and girls are safe and protected from him now.
“It’s a safer place when he’s behind bars and I won’t have to worry about other people being hurt by him for the time being. But there’s always the worry that he might get out again.
“He seems to have a lot of people on his side who give him the benefit of the doubt. But for now, I have to be pleased about the news.” *
Probation staff had become concerned at Pitchfork’s attitude since his release, sources said. But they added that there is no *suggestion he had been grooming any particular woman, making contact with children or committing a criminal offence.
South Leicestershire MP Alberto Costa said: “Pitchfork’s behaviour has given *sufficient cause for concern to the p*robation authorities.”
The killer’s case will be considered in 28 days, when he is expected to be kept in closed *conditions. He is then entitled to have a full parole board hearing within six months when he can apply to move to an open prison.
If successful, he would be free to apply for release the following year.
Pitchfork was the first person convicted of murder on DNA evidence. He was denied parole in 2016 and 2018 but in June he was deemed no longer a danger.
The Probation Service said: “Protecting the public is our priority so when offenders breach conditions and potentially pose a risk, we will return them to custody.”
Pitchfork was given 35 licence conditions, including tagging, exclusion zones and a ban on contact with children.
