Royal Courtiers Who Sneered About Kate Middleton Now The Ones Bowing Lowest to Her

Kate Middleton was once dubbed 'Waity Katy' by royal courtiers who believed she was waiting for Prince William to propose to her while she was his girlfriend in 2008

Courtiers who reportedly sneered at Kate Middleton when she joined the royal family are now the ones 'bowing the lowest' to her, a palace expert claims.

Historian and author Sarah Gristwood said the Duchess of Cambridge looks set to 'play a big hand' in the 'remoulding' of the monarchy.

She thinks that the palace officials who once apparently mocked 'Waity Katy' are now in awe of Prince William's wife.

Kate received the cruel nickname, which suggested she was patiently waiting for a proposal, while she was William's girlfriend around 2008.

However, the couple celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary last week, with Kate reportedly 'refocusing' on her royal duties following Megxit.

Ms Gristwood told Vanity Fair: "I'll bet those courtiers who reputedly once sneered about 'Waity Katy' are the very ones bowing lowest now.

"She looks like the person who's going to have to play a big hand in the ongoing remoulding of the monarchy."

Sources told the Daily Mail that the Duchess of Cambridge's determination and confidence has grown since Megxit last year.

She is now apparently keen to achieve 'real, lasting change', with a focus on continuing to help young children.

Palace aides told the Mail: "The Duchess is definitely doing things that are different and outside her comfort zone these days, and that's because she feels confident doing them."

It comes after the Daily Mirror's Royal Correspondent Russell Myers said Prince William and Prince Charles will leave Prince Harry and Meghan to 'sort things out on their own'.

Speaking to talkRadio, he said the royal family are united and trying to 'get back to business'.
