More than 100 inmates took over a section of a downtown St. Louis jail to protest "unsafe" conditions during the Covid pandemic.
Inmates were seen throwing chairs from broken windows at the City Justice Center, where a takeover attempt began around 2.30am on Saturday.
At least one corrections officer has been injured at the Missouri facility.
The attempted takeover broke out on the fourth floor of the jail when an inmate got "very, very upset" and got into a fight with a corrections officer.
