Shares in Japan hit a near 30-year high on Monday, the first day of trading following news that Joe Biden had won the US presidential election.
Japan's main share index - the Nikkei 225 - closed up 2.1% at a level not seen since 1991.
Stock markets across Asia also saw healthy gains with a positive sentiment in Australia, China and Hong Kong.

He is under mounting pressure to concede the US presidential race as George W Bush congratulated Joe Biden on his victory and said the election was "fundamentally fair". Today Trump continued to discredit his own country’s election process.
He made it clear he will not respect the counts or concede to Joe Biden.

While the rest of the world congratulated the new President-Elect, Trump played golf in Virginia and was still insisting: “This election is far from over.”
And his official statement left no one in doubt that he plans to launch lawsuit after lawsuit to get his own way.
