Young Academic Accused of Spying Imprisoned in Iran For Over 700 Days

Australian academic Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert. Her situation is grim. She’s about to start her third year as a prisoner in Iran and is being held in an unimaginably squalid, coronavirus-infested jail outside the capital, Tehran.

Her crime, according to the Iranian regime, is that she’s a spy.

Dr Moore-Gilbert emphatically denies the accusation, but her appeals have all been ignored or rejected. As Sarah Abo reports, it means her only hope now is for the Australian government to come to her rescue.
