Legionella Bacteria Found in Water Supply at UK MoD Abbey Wood
No members of staff have reported symptoms
Bristol UK News 20 AUG 2020.
Bosses at Filton's Defence Equipment and Support unit confirmed no employees had showed symptoms of the serious lung infection yet.
Specialists are now being brought in to locate the source.
A DE&S spokesperson said: “We have detected legionella bacteria in parts of the water supply at DE&S Abbey Wood.
"To date, no member of staff has reported symptoms.
“We are working closely with contractors to resolve the issue and ensure that any risk to employees is minimised.”
