Default Re: The ROYAL Nanny's Rules & Inside Kensington Palace Home

Rules Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis Must Follow at Home Under 'No Nonsense' Nanny

Kate Middleton and Prince William hired Maria Borrallo to help them look after their royal trio Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - and she's perfectly trained for the important job

Daily Mirror UK, 2 MAY 2020

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very hands on when it comes to raising their children, but that doesn't mean they don't have a bit of extra help.

And unsurprisingly, Princes George, Princess Charlotte and little Louis have one of the best nannies money can buy.

Maria Borrallo trained at the prestigious Norland College and was hired by Kate and Wills back in 2014 when George was eight months old.

She lives in Kensington Palace and travels with the family on visits and royal tours as a discrete presence.

Maria is believed to be very strict with the royal children and like all Norland Nannies has a "no nonsense" approach.

There are a number of rules nannies at the Bath college are taught to impose on the children in their care, so it's likely that George, Charlotte and Louis have to follow them.

Norland expert Louise Heren : "There will be no messing. That's because Maria will be aware that as they step off planes, holding mum's hands, smiling and waving to the crowds, there can't be any crying or terrible twos or tantrums."

There's a strict 7pm bedtime every night, which has to be stuck to.

In a bid to discourage fussy eating, new foods and flavours are introduced every few days.

All play must take place outside, regardless of the weather.

Louise said: "Lots of bike rides, playing with their dogs, potentially some gardening. Norland are very into teaching children through play.

"If it is tipping down, they will still go out. Wet weather is just in appropriate clothing, you have to put the right stuff on."

Children are taught using games and traditional fun, such a jigsaw puzzles.

Screen time is completely up to the parents, and it's something Prince William has admitted they find difficult in the past.

Inside Kate Middleton, William, George, Charlotte and Louis's Kensington Palace home

Kate Middleton and Prince William are bringing up their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in central London - and their home is just as gorgeous as you would expect

The Cambridge family live in the biggest house in Kensington Palace - Apartment 1A - and they have turned it into the perfect family home.

Kate, William, George, Charlotte and Louis's main residence is made up of 20 rooms, including five reception rooms, three master bedrooms and two nurseries.

It also has two kitchens, which earned the Duchess the nickname two-kitchens Kate after the couple spent £4.5million of taxpayers' money refurbishing the property.

Even though it's their private home, they occasionally use it as a base when hosting guests - which means we've had a sneak peek inside some of the more formal parts.

When Barack and Michelle Obama visited the UK back in 2016, Kate and William invited them into their apartment for dinner.

Later that year the Duchess set up a 'news room' in the Palace to use on the day she guest edited the Huffington Post UK for a day as part of the Young Minds Matter initiative.

We've had a look back at some of our favourite photos taken inside Kensington Palace.
