re: Bomb Cyclone Dennis Follows Storm Ciara & Batters UK
Storm of the Century Batters UK with 100mph Winds
Storm Ciara's Trail of Chaos: Trains, Planes and even The Queen Couldn't Escape The Mayhem
Worst storm in years hits most of country, closing roads and forcing people to evacuate their homes leaving 20,000 + without power
The Telegraph UK, 10FEB,2020.
More than 20,000 homes are without power and parts of the UK could see blizzards and up to 20cm of snow.
Britain is facing more weather mayhem over the next 48 hours. After Storm Ciara battered the UK with winds of up to 100mph and caused large-scale flooding, widespread travel disruption
Hundreds of flights were grounded yesterday, motorways and main roads shut by fallen trees and trains cancelled and delayed. The Met Office warned that "exceptional" gusts of up to 70mph would strike again today and also issued snow and ice warnings. Network Rail said it expected further disruption to trains as its engineers battled to restore services.
Meanwhile, a British Airways flight propelled by a 265mph tailwind flew from New York to London in under five hours, setting a subsonic passenger jet record. The Boeing 747 landed at Heathrow at 4.43am yesterday after a journey time of just four hours and 56 minutes, and having reached a top speed of 825mph. The flight arrived 102 minutes early. Flights in the opposite direction were taking as much as two and a half hours longer as they battled against the prevailing winds of Storm Ciara.

The 3rd day in a row of consistent strong winds for the UK courtesy of Storm Ciara. Coincidentally I had a couple of hours at MAN prior to an interview, so I thought I'd see what I could film!
Filming from 2 till 4, winds were out of the West/North West with steady winds of 30 knots gusting up to 41. Tower also report instant winds of 37 Knots without gusts!
Complimenting a variety of crosswind landings there were 2 Go Arounds, both landed second time round.
GO AROUNDS:
EasyJet A320 G-EZOA (Holidays Livery) U21950/EZY53MC from GVA.
Unstable on very short final, within 50 foot of the ground!
TUI B738 G-FDZS BY485/TOM485F From RAK.
Went around due to Windshear, look at the sink rate!
