Prince Andrew emailed his paedophile pal’s alleged “madam” Ghislaine Maxwell for information on his sex accuser after Buckingham Palace was told she was going to speak.
The duke, had been approached for comment on January 2, 2015, as Virginia Giuffre – previously known as Roberts – was due to claim she had been lent out to the royal by his friend Jeffrey Epstein.
The prince has “categorically” denied any sexual contact with Ms Giuffre.
At 5.50am the following day, Andrew emailed his friend, Maxwell, 57, asking: “Let me know when we can talk. Got some specific questions to ask you about Virginia Roberts.”

The email was sent hours before Epstein’s alleged teen sex slave appeared on a US website claiming she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times.
Details of the email – which was submitted in evidence as part of a civil investigation into Epstein’s offending –came out as Panorama last night broadcast its one-hour programme titled The Prince and the Epstein Scandal which piled further pressure on the duke.
The BBC discovered that lawyers for five of Epstein’s victims want Andrew, 59, to provide testimony in court following the billionaire’s suicide in August.
The Wall Street financier had been awaiting trial for underage sex trafficking. He was convicted of procuring a minor for prostitution in 2008 and sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Pre-trial witness subpoenas, which would need signing by a judge, have been prepared for all five cases and could be served on the Prince if he were ever to return to the States.
Andrew refuted her allegations, most recently when he appeared on Newsnight three weeks ago, but Giuffre labelled his denials as “bull****”.
The duke was photographed with his arm around her at Maxwell’s London house in March 2001. He cast doubt over the image, saying he had no memory of it being taken.
In response, Giuffre said: “He knows what happened, I know what happened. There’s only one of us telling the truth and that’s me.”
During the programme, Giuffre alleged she was brought to London by Epstein, introduced to Andrew and taken to Tramp nightclub. She said: “It was horrible, this guy was sweating all over me, I was grossed out from it.
"But I knew I had to keep him happy because that’s what Jeffrey and Ghislaine expected.”
Andrew has claimed he had a medical condition after suffering an overdose of adrenaline in the Falklands when he was shot at, which meant he did not sweat.
When they had left the club, Giuffre said Maxwell – Andrew’s pal and Epstein’s then-girlfriend – gave her instructions, she said:
“In the car, Ghislaine tells me that ‘I have to do for Andrew what I do for Jeffrey’ and that just made me sick.”
She said that later that evening, she had sex with Andrew upstairs at Maxwell’s house in Belgravia.
Giuffre called on the British people to join her fight for justice. She said: “I implore the people in the UK to stand up beside me, to help me fight this fight. This is not some sordid sex story. This is a story of being trafficked, this is a story of abuse.”
Another victim, Sarah Ransome, alleged that Maxwell was the “nuts and bolts of the sex-trafficking operation” carried out by Epstein, saying “she was like the madam”.
Allegations against her were first made public in court documents in 2009 but Andrew maintained their friendship.
The pair once attended Royal Ascot together with Epstein.
Last night Maxwell could not be reached for comment but she has previously denied any involvement in or knowledge of Mr Epstein’s abuse.
A palace spokesman said: “It is emphatically denied that the Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts. Any claim to the contrary is false.”
