Narrow Water Castle in Co Down has been named among the best Halloween destinations in Europe.
Holidu, a search engine for holiday homes in Europe, has included the Northern Irish castle as one of its favorite Halloween destinations, alongside castles in Italy, France, Belgium, and Germany.
Holidu says the original Narrow Water Castle building dates back to the 1680s but was newly renovated to include a luxury apartment that can sleep up to six people.
“Features such as the local granite exterior and interior exposed beams make this home the perfect choice for a late October weekend away in the Irish countryside.”
Narrow Water Castle’s website reads: “The apartment looks out across the estate farmland, as far as Warrenpoint and Carlingford Bay. The landscaped gardens provide unrivaled idyllic castle views in this truly unique setting.
“If our guests wish to explore the estate, they can stroll through the landscaped gardens or walk to the forest in search of the hidden castle. There is an equestrian centre within the estate and a golf course within walking distance.”
