Rainfall warning for
Avalon Peninsula North continued

Additional rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 millimetres are expected by this afternoon.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A low pressure system south of Nova Scotia will move slowly northeastward today. A warm frontal trough extending northeastward from the low will move northwestward across Eastern Newfoundland today to lie over central areas by this evening.

Rain at times heavy has been observed over much of Eastern Newfoundland overnight and into this morning with most sites reporting accumulations in the 30 to 40 millimeter range. This rain will persist through the day today before tapering to showers this evening. Further rainfall accumulations of 20 to 30 millimeters are expected.
