Floyd Mayweather may be in hot water after Sharif Rahman and Hasim Rahman Jr. filed suit against the unbeaten champion after Mayweather orchestrated unsanctioned and unsafe fights that appeared on Showtime's All Access show, per Joyce Lupiani of KTNV in Las Vegas.

ESPN.com's Dan Rafael explained why Mayweather could run into trouble:

Quote:

The (Nevada State Athletic Commission) was most concerned with footage that aired of amateur boxer Sharif Rahman, one of former undisputed heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman's sons, taking a serious beating from amateur Donovan Cameron while Mayweather watched what was supposed to be a sparring session.
Upset that his brother had taken such a vicious beating, Hasim Rahman Jr., Sharif's older brother, challenged the smaller Cameron to get into the ring with him. While members of the gym lined up wagers, they supposedly fought for 31 consecutive minutes until Cameron could not go on.
All the while, Mayweather was present and cheering wildly

"With All Access, we're able to edit and chop footage the way we want," Mayweather said in response to the criticism, implying that the footage shown on Showtime was a mere exaggeration of what actually happens at Mayweather's gym in Las Vegas.

According to Lupiani, however, the Rahman brothers contend that the fights were very real and that the feared for their own well-being.
Someone around the ring attempted to stop the fight between Sharif Rahman and Cameron when Rahman was getting thoroughly outmatched, but Mayweather "responded by telling Cameron and others that if Sharif left the ring, to beat his ass outside the ring."

Hasim Rahman Jr. arrived at the gym and demanded to fight Cameron. Mayweather obliged and reportedly called it a "fight to the death."
Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix felt that the lawsuit in large part refutes Mayweather's claim that the fights were staged for Showtime.

Rafael talked to a spokesman for the network in September who offered no comment on the situation.

All in all, the Rahman brothers' lawsuit alleges 14 different claims against Mayweather, which include "invasion of right of publicity and intrusion upon name or likeness of another; defamation; battery and tortious assault; and false imprisonment and negligence."
