All of the fighters on this list have three or more losses, and all of them have been finished at some point in their career. As of late, they appear to be unstoppable, and that is a big statement considering the ever-increasing level of the talent in the sport, especially in the UFC.
These 10 fighters show in every one of their defeats just how tough it is to beat them by submission or knockout. Many of their losses are by decision.
If you are predicting them to lose, it's a good bet it's going to come by way of decision.

No. 10: Roy Nelson

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307552990

Of Ultimate Fighter winner Roy Nelson's six defeats, one has come by knockout. The rest were by decision, including his three-round fights versus heavyweight contenders Junior Dos Santos and Frank Mir

Dos Santos had been knocking everyone out, and it looked like he was going to do the same to Nelson. He willed through an onslaught of head and body shots to take Dos Santos the distance for the first time in his career.
In his fight with former UFC Champion Frank Mir, he took three-rounds of knees to the face and never was close to being stopped. On top of that, he was also battling bronchitis and a knee injury heading into the bout.

No. 9: Diego Sanchez

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307553580

Diego Sanchez showed just how hard he is to finish in his most recent unanimous-decision victory over Martin Kampmann at UFC Live on Versus.
He battled through swelling, cuts, blood and bruises all in the first round to come back and rock Kampmann in the second and third rounds to win the close decision.
Sanchez is one of those fighters that gets stronger the more he gets hurt. In all of the fights that's he's been in danger of being stopped, he has always come back to survive and sometimes win.
His only stoppage loss was in his title fight vs. BJ Penn after he got a deep gash on his forehead.

No. 8: Nate Diaz

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307553438

Of Nate Diaz's five losses inside the UFC, all have been by decision.
His demeanor and fearless approach to fighting is what keeps him in the fight at all times.
He is constantly fighting and training with some of the very best, including current Strikeforce champions Nick Diaz and Gilbert Melendez, and this definitely helps attribute to his fighting style and tenacity inside the cage.
Diaz leaves himself open and has been dropped by powerful strikers Marcus Davis and Melvin Guillard, but he came back in both to submit both of them in the later rounds.

No. 7: Nick Diaz

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307553589

Like his brother, Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz is incredibly hard to finish. He has only been knocked out once in 33 bouts.
Not only did he run through bombs thrown by Paul Daley, he also came back to deliver his own and knocked the former UFC welterweight contender out in the first round of their title fight.
His next fight will come against UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 137. St. Pierre has been criticized for taking a lot of his fights the full five-round distance.
If there is one fight fans shouldn't be surprised to see go the distance, it's St. Pierre vs. Diaz.

No. 6: Jake Shields

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307553563

Jake Shields had a rocky start to his UFC career against Martin Kampmann at UFC 121. Visibly tired, he survived the dangerous striking of the Danish-kickboxer and pulled out a controversial split-decision win.
Shields went on a 15-fight win streak including wins over Dan Henderson, Jason Miller, Robbie Lawler and Paul Daley before losing to UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre over five-rounds.
He survived the power of Lawler, Daley and took a massive "h-bomb" from Henderson in the opening minute of their fight. It's a punch that puts middleweights and light-heavyweights to sleep, but Shields survived and won a decision over the two-time Pride Fighting Champion.

No. 5: Quinton Jackson

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307553863

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has a granite chin, and his ability to absorb shots is one of his greatest assets he brings into the cage.
Three of his losses have been by TKO, and they were to Wanderlei Silva and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. It takes a lot to put Jackson away, and those fights proved it. He avenged his loss to Silva with a first-round knockout in their third bout.
Don't count on seeing him finished in the Octagon before he retires. His only losses inside the UFC have come by decision, and he's rarely been in trouble of being finished.
He may possibly be the toughest fighter to finish in the 205-pound division.

No. 4: Stephan Bonnar

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307553864

UFC light heavyweight Stephan Bonnar has only been finished by cuts two times. His other five losses have come by decision, including four inside the UFC.
Don't be surprised if you see Bonnar bleeding. It has become a trademark of his fights, and stems from the massive amount of punishment he takes.
He is a "take two to give one" fighter and is always in danger of being finished, but he always makes it through the attack to dish out his own.
He hasn't been stopped aside from the cut stoppages, and that's a fighter's best bet of defeating him by anything other than a decision.

No. 3: Jon Fitch

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307553717

Jon Fitch is 23-3 in MMA and has only lost one fight in eight years, falling short in his title fight vs. welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
He has been in dangerous situations multiple times throughout his career, but wills his way through each of them to come back and win decisions in most.
For a fighter that has been to a decision nine times in a row, Fitch has found himself in several iffy situations where he got caught with a strike or stuck in a submission attempt.
Still, his opponent wasn't able to finish him, and he has come back to win eight of them.

No. 2: Dan Henderson

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307553640

If current Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Dan Henderson's fight with Rafael Cavalcante wasn't a showcase of his iron chin, then I don't know what is.
Early in round one, he took a bomb from the champion and was found falling over for one of the few times in his career. "Feijao," who has finished nine of his 13 opponents, wasn't able to follow up on the danger he put the former Pride champion in.
Henderson rallied and put "Feijao" away in the third round to win the championship in one of 2011's best fights.
Five of his eight losses have come by decision. The other three have been by submission.

No. 1: Chris Lytle

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...jpg?1307553665

Chris Lytle is the pound-for-pound toughest fighter in MMA.
With 18 defeats to his record, 16 have been by decision. The only two stoppages he has on his record were by cuts suffered by strikes from Thiago Alves and Joe Riggs, which is the only way a fighter is going to be able to finish the 36-year-old former firefighter.
Lytle has expressed interest in retiring, but he has no reason to, and his next fight will be against Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy on Aug. 14.
