In what should not be a shocker to many people, the WWE has decided to err on the side of caution and pull Dolph Ziggler from Sunday's Extreme Rules pay-per-view.

In case you were unaware, Ziggler suffered a concussion during last week's SmackDown taping, leaving his Extreme Rules status as questionable ever since.

On Monday Night Raw, the WWE officially announced that it was pulling "The Show-Off" from the event and booking Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio in an "I Quit" match. Personally, I feel this was a solid move by the company as it can't afford to lose any more big names due to long-term injury.

Overall, I wish that the company would have either stripped Ziggler and made this a battle for the vacant World title. As it would have added a bit more intrigue to an otherwise average match.

Keep in mind, I don't wish for anyone to lose the title under these circumstances. However, it seems to me like it would have made the most sense for the story line's continuity.

The fact is, we have already witnessed Swagger and Del Rio on the "Grandest Stage of Them All" and know what they are capable of against each other. Don't get me wrong, both men are extremely talented, I just feel that a standard grudge match between these two leaves much to be desired. Especially considering this is supposed to be a pay-per-view quality bout.

In the end, I am certain that Del Rio and Swagger will bring their A-game to Sunday's event. That being said, I do wonder where the WWE's "Universe" stands on this and if they are still all in for this month’s pay-per-view offering.
