Hey, have you heard about that Lord Tensai guy?

I’m kidding. Of course you have.

Lord Tensai (a.k.a. A-Train, Albert, Giant Bernard, etc.) is set to debut/return to the WWE soon, and there has been all sorts of speculation about what his role in the company will be. Based on the way the WWE is promoting him, it’s clear that he’s going to get a pretty big push right out of the gate.

But exactly what is he going to be doing? And who’s he going to be feuding with? Let’s find out.

As noted before, Matt “A-Train” Bloom is set to return to WWE in April as Lord Tensai and will reportedly be “pushed to the top.” Besides John Cena, WWE officials have also discussed having Tensai feud with Randy Orton. No word yet if Tensai will still come in as one of John Laurinaitis’ henchmen.

I’m familiar with Lord Tensai, and chances are that most people reading this probably are, too. But anyone who started watching the WWE after 2004 likely has no idea who he is, so that makes me slightly fearful that he may end up flopping if he’s shoved down our throats right out of the gate.

If the creative team throws Tensai into an immediate feud with John Cena or Randy Orton, it’s going to have to be very careful about how he’s booked. You don’t want to have Tensai lose his first feud, because first impressions stick with people for a while, especially in pro wrestling.

On the flip side, having Tensai come in and take out Orton and/or Cena (assuming it’s done right) would instantly establish him as one of the top heels in the WWE. It’s just a matter of how the WWE books him, but of course, there’s a thin line between ruining Tensai’s character and hitting the jackpot with it.

Personally, I’d pair Tensai with John Laurinaitis upon his debut because Laurinaitis is a heat magnet, and putting the two together could be a great way to instantly get Tensai over without pushing him too hard as a singles competitor.

You could form a mini-“Corporation” stable of sorts with Laurinaitis, Otunga, Lord Tensai and perhaps a few others, build it up and then have the stable go after one of the WWE’s biggest fish, such as Orton or Cena.
That’s just my theory, though, folks, and chances are that Lord Tensai is going to be booked like a top heel from the get go
