Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms, according to the White House.

Biden was expected to speak at the Unido sUS conference in Las Vegas, but this speaking engagement was cancelled. The US president addressed the NAACP convention, also in Las Vegas, on June 16.

Janet MurguÃ*a, CEO of UnidosUS, said she spoke with Biden by phone, and â€œhe shared his deep disappointment at not being able to join us this afternoon.â€

â€œThe President has been at many events as we all know and he just tested positive for Covid,â€ she said in a statement shared by White House pool reporters. â€œSo of course we understand that he needs to take the precautions that have been recommended and he did not obviously want to put anybody at risk.â€

MurguÃ*a said that president Biden told her that she â€œwouldnâ€™t get rid of him that easilyâ€ and planned to return to speak to UnidosUS supporters as soon as he was able.

Biden previously had Covid in July 2022.
