Stafford Murders Distraught Dad Watched as Surviving Child Carried From House
Shocked neighbours in Stafford have recalled the aftermath of a double stabbing in Corporation Street on the weekend. Two victims, who have since been named as Meraj Ul Zahra, aged two, and Abdul Momin Alfaateh, three, were both found unresponsive with injuries inside. Despite medics best efforts, they were pronounced dead at the scene. A third child, believed to be a boy, was found alive at the scene. Neighbours said his father was too disraught to carry him to the police car. The force has since confirmed that a woman, aged 43, from the Stafford area, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in custody. The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as is routine following earlier police contact, Staffordshire Police said One neighbour told the Daily Mail The first we knew that something was wrong was when we heard all of the sirens. Then later, I saw the older child being taken away in a police car. The father was too distraught to carry him so the police carried the child to the car for him. Its so sad, they were lovely children. Its a big shock to have something like this happen on my doorstep Two ambulances and two paramedic officers were sent to the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service said. A spokesman said On arrival of ambulance staff we discovered two patients, both children. Sadly, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save them and they were confirmed dead at the scene |
