Justin Laurens Stein has been jailed for life without parole for the "execution"-style murder of nine-year-old schoolgirl Charlise Mutten in the Blue Mountains.

Stein was handed the maximum sentence after being found guilty of shooting and dumping the schoolgirl's body in a barrel near the Colo River, south-west of Sydney, in January 2022.

For almost three years, Kallista Mutten has stayed silent about the horrific murder of her daughter Charlise.

At the time of the nine-year-olds death, Kallista was using drugs and her life was out of control.

"I'm not this monster that everyone has read in the papers and the news," she said.

Police cleared Kallista of having anything to do with her daughters murder early in the investigation, but that didn't stop an angry public.

She was heavily scrutinised and blamed for putting her little girl in harm's way.

But in her first interview, she told 60 Minutes shes a victim, not a villain - manipulated and framed by a man she trusted and even planned to marry.

"I didnt commit any murder or anything like that, but I do take accountability for the things I have done," she said....:arrrrrgh:
