Dreamteamdownloads1 -Server Base Change & DB SQL Repair DONE

As you all know, the past few weeks we had server issues with our host and their inability to fix anything, and finally we decided to move the site to a more reliable host.

We started the backup/setup/install yesterday and have successfully moved over to our new server... However there is a downside to this procedure.

At the time of saving the database to when it was transferred to the new server, we lost many hours worth of New Posts, New Member Registrations, and Post Moderation...

We are trying to get the very latest of what is on the old data base over to this new one so the loss is as minimal as possible.

Also, we ask that All Members download and use CCleaner to clean your computers cache as it removes unused files from your system, allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space.... This program contains NO Spyware or Adware! :)

Click to Download CCleaner

Simply Install and click to RUN CLEANER...

Once finished, Restart Browser and you should be good to go

Also, all New Member registrations within this transfer period were also lost and will need to re-register once they attempt to log in..

If you notice Anything not right with the site, PLEASE post it in our Site Problems, Suggestions & Praise Section and we will get on it as fast as we can..

We Thank Everyone who has stuck by us for the last few weeks/days and we hope to have everything back up and running normally very soon.

Re: DreamTeamDownloads1 Now on New Server!!

A tip.
In CCleaner menu go to Options/Settings and mark "Run CCleaner when the computer starts."
This will clean your PC automatically every time you run a start-up.
You can also choose deletion method.

(I've been using CCleaner for years)

Re: DreamTeamDownloads1 Now on New Server!!

Very cool guys, glad you got this done, now everyone will see this thread and clear their cache when they come on the site, but the server advises he has done something so its no longer necessary, but leave this as it is,,,,just in case and its always beneficial for members to use CCleaner regularly

Thanks

  • Select the Advanced panel.
  • Click on the Network tab.
  • In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.

  • Click OK to close the Options window

To Set it to Automatically Clear the Cache

  • At the top of the Firefox window, click on TOOLS and then click Options
  • Select the Privacy panel.
  • In the History section, set Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history.
  • Select the check box for Clear history when Firefox closes.

  • Beside Clear history when Firefox closes, click the Settings... button. The Settings for Clearing History window will open.
  • In the Settings for Clearing History window, click the check mark box next to Cache.

How to Clear your Cache in Internet Explorer 9

  • Once your browser is open, click the gear at the top right to open the settings menu.
  • Then, select Safety and Delete Browsing History
  • or, optionally you may simply press Ctrl+Shift+Delete to open the Delete Browsing History window.

  • Select Temporary Internet Files.
  • You will also need to UNCHECK all of the other boxes, especially Preserve Favorites website data.
  • This option makes the window also delete objects from websites in your Favorites folder, which is necessary to completely clear your cache.

http://pad2.whstatic.com/images/f/f1...ng_history.png

  • Click the Delete button near the bottom of the window to perform the operations (i.e. clear your cache by deleting temporary files).
  • Once you click Delete, the process will be complete. You've successfully cleared Internet Explorer 9's Cache!

ENJOY!!

I have been using CCleaner for many years, but would not rely or totally trust the registry cleaner

Yes.. CC is good to remove unwanted files but I always use a separate registry optimizer to do the registry..

Re: DreamTeamDownloads1 Now on New Server!!

CC cleaner is great for cleaning the system. Here's another tip for once it is clean. Go get Sandboxie
Code:

http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?DownloadSandboxie
It's free. Once you have it installed, run your browser in the sandboxed mode. Any downloads you get in, it will allow you to place anywhere on your computer, after you've oked the transfer. Everything else is ran in sandbox mode. That means if you get malware, it doesn't get installed on your computer and when you close the browser, the malware is no longer.

Re: DreamTeamDownloads1 Now on New Server!!

Since this thread is discussion the removal of cache histories, this may be of interest to this threads' topic. CSS history datamining isn't a very depended on method anymore to retrieve history. Everyone and their brother now knows to clear the history. Instead flash, silverlight, and dns cache are now the main ones looked at because not everyone still knows how to do it.

DNS cache is removed by DOS, I'll cover that one since it is rather arcane. DOS keeps a record of everywhere you connect so that re-connections are preformed faster. Most people lose it when you say DOS. So here's how to address that.

Assuming you have Vista/Win7, go to Start>All programs>Accessories>Command Prompt
Right click on Command Prompt and allow Run as Administrator. You must have this level access to get to the data.
At the prompt you can see what is in your DNS Cache by typing the following command:
ipconfig/displaydns
to clear the DNS Cache typing in the following:
ipconfig/flushdns
You will receive a message at the end stating it has been cleared. If you are slow at typing you can even copy and paste into the Command Prompt from the commands I've given here.

SHORT DOWNTIME- Server Upgraded- & It's Fast!

We have to Upgrade our Server to a faster, more reliable & secure version. We remain with the same Host/Server, but want to improve the version we have now.

I have also been informed by some members and staff that some in certain countries are having problems accessing our site, so this Upgrade will supposedly resolve that.

I do apologise for these problems, but we are constantly Upgrading & Improving our server, in order to provide the best service for all of you.

Please excuse the inconvenience.

& Thank you for your patience and loyalty to this site.

Ladybbird

re: SHORT DOWNTIME- Server Upgraded- & It's Fast!

The work for the Upgrade was done during the night, so many of you would not have noticed the downtime, the site was only down for a couple of minutes, thanks to the excellent work of our Server.

Great teamwork between him, myself & BRONZ (Webmaster), ensured that our members were not inconvenienced too much.

Enjoy the faster speed and if any of you could help out with that extra cost each month, by donating something, we would greatly appreciate it.

This site is working at a loss, we do not make any profit from our members donations.

But please do not be concerned if you cannot afford to donate, you will still receive the same good service from all our great Staff, and the hard work of our Uploaders supplying you with good stuff, that you have always had. :)

:thanks:
